Charles Dean “Chuck” Linder, 56, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014. He was born March 7, 1958 in Lafayette, IN to Charles Edward and Beverly Jane (Woodruff) Linder. Chuck had been an EMT with Calumet Township, a volunteer firefighter with Lake Ridge Fire Department and a firefighter/ EMT with Bethlehem Steel. He was co-founder of Lake County Divers Supply, the owner and dive instructor with The SCUBA Tank in Valparaiso and was a 30 year member of PADI. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and was recently named Coordinator of the Roseanna Gray Hilltop Food Pantry. Survivors include his wife, Kimberly; nine children: Kelly Ann (fiancé Tim) Linder, Kelli Marie (Erik) Ciesinski, David Charles Linder, Jessica Lynn Abner, Stephanie Nicole (fiancé George) Abner, Elizabeth Jane Linder, Ray Steven Linder, Karlie Marie Abner and Eric Charles Linder; four grandchildren: Destinee, Aaurora, Samantha and Steven; one sister, Cindy Krantz of Valparaiso. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Roseanna Gray; and wife, Patricia J. Linder in 2005. A funeral service will be held onThursday, March 27, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, the Rev. Ross Mack officiating with cremation at Angelcrest Crematory. Visitation will be Wednesday, 4:00- 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Roseanna Gray Hilltop Food Pantry.
Just a quick update… Contracts with Cass County were confirmed by the County Commissioners for Scuba Diving at France Park today. Paperwork is completed, now it’s time to focus on diving operations at France Park in 2014. There is a lot to get done in a short amount of time. Full details will be posted TBA.
